“I’m not sure. Do you have any ideas of a nice place to go?” She asks, moving to wrap her arms around him loosely.
“Where sounds best to you? Hawaii? Mexico? Another island?” He wondered, kissing the top of her head.
“How about Australia?” She suggests, pulling him closer. “I haven’t traveled anywhere in so long, it might be nice.”
“I’m not sure. Do you have any ideas of a nice place to go?” She asks, moving to wrap her arms around him loosely.
“Is someone offering to treat me?” She questions with a giggle, moving to hold his hand. “Maybe after New Years we could get out of here.”
She takes the sweatshirt and nods, putting it on and sighing in content. Alice crawls out of the bed to find a pair of leggings to put on. “So warm…”
Grump
He snorted. “Tell me about it. It would be nice to forget everything. And I honestly would love to forget the experience of holding my lifeless son in my arms.”
“I didn’t mean it like that. I meant the good parts of your marriage before that happened.” She explained. “Even though it was arranged, did you love her? Or did your parents do an awful job at picking your future wife?”
Grump
“Man, you must’ve really been living the life.” She turns to lay on her back, looking up at the ceiling. “Well, prior to being a vampire I guess. But still, it was something you got to experience.” Alice shrugged. “Was it nice? Was she everything you ever imagined? Did you plan on having a family? Sorry, I never get to talk about this stuff with anyone. You got me excited in a bittersweet sort of way.”
He blinked, his eyes far away. “She was one of my friends growing up and we were arranged at a young age. She was calm and serious. She died…childbirth. The only child we would have had died with her.”
“I’m sorry.” She replied softly. “But at least it was an experience, y'know? I mean, there are times when I hate being immortal. But that’s what alcohol is for, right? To forget all the things we want but can never have?”
